Leak Detection & Slab Leak Repair in San Antonio
San Antonio sits on soil that swells and shrinks hard between drought and downpour, and slab-on-grade foundations move with it. That movement is why slab leaks are so common here. We locate leaks with acoustic and thermal equipment before opening anything, then walk you through repair versus reroute with the cost of each.
What is included
- Electronic and acoustic leak location under slabs
- Thermal imaging for hot-water line leaks
- Pressure testing of supply and gas lines
- Slab leak repair, and rerouting when repair is the worse investment
- Wall, ceiling and under-sink leak tracing
- Water meter verification for unexplained bill spikes
Signs you need this
- Water bill jumped with no change in use
- Warm spot on the floor
- Sound of running water with everything off
- Cracks in drywall, tile or the slab
- Damp carpet or buckling flooring
- Low water pressure throughout the house

Leak Detection questions
- The common signs are a water bill that jumped without a change in use, a warm spot on the floor, the sound of running water with everything shut off, unexplained cracks in tile or drywall, and damp or buckling flooring. Any one of those is worth a call; two together usually means a leak.
- Much of the area sits on clay soil that expands when wet and contracts hard during drought. That movement lifts and drops slab foundations through the year, and the supply lines cast into or running under that slab move with it until a joint or a bend fails.
- No. Detection is done with acoustic listening equipment, thermal imaging and pressure testing before anything is opened. The point of paying for detection is that the only concrete that gets cut is the concrete directly over the leak.
- It depends on the age of the pipe and whether it has leaked before. A single failure in an otherwise sound system is worth repairing in place. A second or third leak in the same system usually means the pipe is at the end of its life, and rerouting overhead or repiping is the better investment. We price both.
- Policies vary considerably. Many Texas policies cover the resulting water damage and the cost of accessing the leak, while excluding the pipe repair itself. We document the leak with photos and location details so you have what you need to file, but the coverage question is between you and your carrier.
